We have a wide variety of glasses, sunglasses & contact lenses to choose from. We can fill your updated prescription from your Ophthalmologist/Optometrist or you can see our doctors. We specialize in difficult prescriptions including Strabismus, Prisms, and hard to fit patients. We also provide prescription swim goggles, ski masks, and sports/safety glasses. Upon request we will make visits to Brooke Grove and Friends House and do offer a senior citizens discount.
Our on site lab means a quick turnaround for you. We can put your new prescription into your current eyewear
(if in good condition) without having to leave your eyewear for long extended periods of time.
With our two Optometrists we provide comprehensive eye exams for ages 5 and over. We offer general eye exams for contact lenses, monovision, bifocals, motor vehicle certifications and prescreening for Lasik surgery. Please feel free to call us if you have any questions.
OUR TEAM
Butch began working in the optical industry in 1968 when he began his apprenticeship with Colonial Opticians in Bethesda, Maryland. Colonial Opticians opened a branch in Olney in 1974; he managed the Olney branch for 11 years. He then had the opportunity to purchase the branch and relocated to its current location. He maintains an Optician’s License in the state of Virginia which requires a yearly renewal and is certified by the American Board of Opticianry and also is a fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry. Butch has a great sense of understanding his community and connecting with people, which shows through in his business. He has been a member of the Olney lions club since 1998.
Kim started in this field in 1986 at Bethesda Naval Hospital. She gained great experience working with Opthamologists prior to joining Olney Opticians. Kim joined to Olney Opticians in 1997. Kim values professionalism, but she is much more than an optician; she connects with patients on a personal level and keeps customers coming back year after year. Kim is currently certified with the American Board of Opticianry.
Dr. Kimberly Kepner graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1989 and has been practicing Optometry in Montgomery County ever since. Kim is state and nationally board certified, with a license to prescribe therapeutic medicines. She started at Olney Opticians in 1996. Dr. Kepner is a primary care eye doctor with a specialty in contact lens fitting. She manages Lasik eye refractive surgery offering consultations and follow up care. Kim enjoys helping people achieve their best vision while maintaining optimal eye health.
She is a mother of three children. Her husband, David is also an optometrist. Kim is a member of the Olney Lions Club and a Sunday school teacher at Oakdale Emory United Methodist Church.
Dr. Susan Brulé graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1989. She practiced in Seattle, WA for 8 years before moving to Olney, MD in 1997. She provides comprehensive optometric eye care, fits a variety of contact lenses, and co-manages Lasik cases. She diagnoses eye diseases and co-manages with many ophthalmological and retinal specialists in the area. She is board certified nationally and in the state of Maryland.
Dr. Brulé enjoys learning foreign languages, crocheting and playing the piano. She is the mother of two college-aged children who attend the University of Maryland. Her husband, Joe, is an engineer. They are members of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Rockville.
